Try VHF LOW Band

The 6-meter ham band (50 MHz) comes alive every summer starting in late May through July and August due to Sporadic E skip. If 6 meters is open then VHF Low band is open.

I keep one channel in my scanner programmed to SNOTEL transmitters (41.530MHz) as a "beacon" frequency to alert me when skip is occurring.
The only local VHF-LO band channel I monitor is my old high school's school bus frequency of 33.080MHz. When there is skip, besides hearing the school buses, I also hear a hospital and Spanish voice on that channel.

yes there is,and 35.16 is another good one theres still a lot of small non bell telco's that use that freq
