What settings are you looking for? I have everything on mine set for "auto". Not much activaty on WYOLINK yet. They are still in the testing stages, there are only about 20 TGID's so far. And they are all WYDOT and Radio Techs.

Wyolink is listed as a Project 25 Standard System. It should not need a Base, Step, or Offset on a 396. Just set it as a Motorola P25, not Motorola VHF.

thank you for the help.

Mike,

South Dakota uses a Motorola Type II VHF System which does require Base, Step, & Offset. It's programmed as Motorola Type II VHF in the 396.

WyoLink uses Project 25 Standard which you program as a Motorola P25 in the 396.

The key to look for is in the System Type listed near the top of the page.

With System Type: Project 25 Standard The 396 is programmed as Motorola P25 no matter which frequency range is used.

With System Type: Motorola Type II The 396 is programmed as Motorola Type II ???, where ??? will be VHF, UHF, 800, or 900 depending on the frequency range. Only VHF & UHF need a Base, Step, & Offset.

I have both types of systems near me and the 396 picks them up.

Wyolink

I heard one of the snowplow drivers using digital today. We were driving down US 85 from Torrington and we were listening to 156.105 PL 107.2. We were listening to the analog highway department dispatch but you could tell from the audio that the plow driver was coming in through Wyolink. I still have yet to hear anything directly from Wyolink, and I had to keep my hands on the wheel rather than try to get my 96 hooked up. Did anyone else hear what I heard today?

I have a PRO-97 so what are freq's so I can program the WYOLINK in my scanner. And how soon will the highway patrol beswitching? Would I be wiser to program the old freq's for WHP at this time. I am from out of your wonderful state and only come up there for two weeks each summer. I am trying to program my PRO-97 for this year as well as a PRO-95 for my sister in law. She love to listen but not to wise when it comes to new things like programming a scanner. Thanks in advance for any help

I don't think either the PRO-97 or PRO-95 will do WYOLINK because it's a Project 25 Standard System. :(

scanner for Wyolink

The PRO 97, and PRO 95 will definately NOT work for Wyolink. But they are just fine for almost everything in Wyoming and Wyolink is not likely to be in use anytime soon so if you are visiting this summer bring the 97 and the 95.
