What is still simulcast that is listed in the database for Charleston?

Fire, EMS or PD ? County or City? Anything in adjacent counties?

I am sending a PRO-404 to my granddaughter, so she can listen to VHF Air and Marine, plus whatever else is nearby.

Thanks

MeduCARE Helo VHF Dispatch is still active from what I hear.
155.32500 WNLV622 BM 179.9 PL Meducare Dsp MUSC Meducare Helicopter Dispatch
And the UHF MED CH...
463.02500 WNYV814 RM 179.9 PL MED 2 MUSC Meducare Helicopter
The City of Charleston FD Firergounds are still Simplex 800 analog, as is Mt. Pleasant, and IoP.... Unless they switched to using the Palmetto 800 for everything.
College of Charleston used to use 800 MHz analog for Campus DPS.. But I think they now use the Palmetto 800 too.

There is also the HEAR for the ERs but most of that is now on the Palmetto 800.
Berkeley Fire still tones out on VHF, and I think most of the ops are still VHF also.
Duck Ditch... I mean Goose Creek Fire is still VHF also.
Dorchester Co Fire also still has some use on VHF...

Most stuff is on the Palmetto 800.

You can still listen to Marine Traffic, including USCG, though a lot of USCG traffic is now on its P25 LMR network, and interop on the Palmetto 800 ... Some USN traffic as they traverse up the river to the NWS.

So, is she SNOB, SOB, or just a Chucktowner? :) If you know Charleston, you get the references ...

Thanks. This radio does not have 800 MHz but sounds like a few public safety still on VHF and UHF. She is interested in listening to airplanes and she has no idea how much she will be hearing on VHF marine. If she gets really interested I will get her a better radio later.

Location is a bit more than SOB. Johns Island. Temporarily Walterboro.

New to the site.

Hi everyone I’m new here and was wondering if anyone knew some good conventional frequencies to monitor in the 800 MHz band? Are the ones listed in the Charleston County database current?
I just want to monitor basic public safety dispatch frequencies for now.
I don’t have a trunking radio currently but can make a conventional scan list.
Thanks in advance for any input/help.
