What do administrators use to update location alerts in a timely manner?

Hi all,

I've been running a weather radio stream for my area for a few years now since a lot of them dropped offline around the area (and country). I'm happy to be able to provide this service for people, especially during times of severe weather. My question is How does everyone update their location alerts in a timely manner and does anyone automate them? An easy and obvious example would be a Tornado Warning in the listening area. I see I can log on here and update it but if I'm not around a PC or don't have my phone immediately handy I lose valuable time. Any suggestions or is there an iOS app I may be missing?

I take it there is no API available to update alerts for my broadcast on the fly?
