When decoding pretty much any P25 or DMR system, even the strongest and cleanest signals, some of the console window messages routinely are tagged with ERRnn where nn has various values (1 to 21 in the sample I just looked at). At least 99% of these messages appear to be accurate anyway (i.e., they match known information from other non-ERR messages around them, RRDB, etc.). What exactly are these ERRnn tags indicating? Maybe that error correction was necessary? It seems that they are ignored when choosing what to put in the Channel Activity window, Event Log, etc..

Number of corrected bits. With strong signals, they're typically caused by RF gain set much too low (or much too high) or dropouts in the I/Q or audio stream or poor RF/AF signal processing/filtering. Using SDR# and leaving audio filtering enabled is one way to do it. USB issues, power saving logic, an underpowered processor, VMs, virtual audio cables - these can all be problem sources.

I understand what causes the errors. What I was after is why it would ignore those messages then, since almost all of them seem to be correct. For example, I can see the same set of ADJ_STS_BCST messages multiple times with the same values but not have some of those peers show up in the Event Log, presumably because they had errors corrected. At least I think that's when it happens. I'll try to isolate an example or two. Are there other reasons why I'm finding valid info in the console log that isn't in the other windows?

Do all of the messages have ERRn displayed? Maybe DSD+ doesn't report events unless they're decoded cleanly.

If all (or most) of them are bad (displaying ERRn), something's off with your setup.

That there are errors to begin with is not the issue – they are reasonable for the signals being decoded.

What i find is that the "frequency" may not be spot on when using rtl. Moving the frequency numbers up or down sometimes clears the errors or much less errxxx
