I purchased my scanner back in 2007. Question? Why do I only hear when the cruiser makes first contact with the sheriffs department and nothing else? The Plate number and vehicle description is called in at the stop. The only reply I hear from the Sheriffs Department is 10-5 and " checking every " few minutes. I don't hear the Sheriffs department ever call back with the info from the plate #. Btw, this is all I hear from my local PD. Motor Vehicle stops, nothing else. There has to be other stuff going on in my town. Lol. I'll notice a cruiser on my road heading to a residence. The only chatter I hear on the Scanner is when they leave. Nothing on why they came or what they were dealing with while here.

Ok thanks, btw, My Scanner is a Uniden BCD996T. I was just wondering if it's something on my end or theirs. Need a better scanner etc?

i hope you are not just using the input to the repeater 155.46
the one you want is 154.815

I'm not sure. I forgot how I even programmed this unit. I know it was a *****. How can I find out the frequency that I'm locked on? I just see the name of the department on the scanner. Thanks,

hit menu, program system will be highlighted, hit yes.
scroll to the system, hit yes
scroll to edit channel, hit yes.
it might say group 1, hit yes
scroll to edit channel, hit yes
i think that will do it.
i don't have names on my radio, except for the system, just frequencies and talkgroup numbers.
i am a numbers guy. don't try this at home.

She's running on " Hold " and has the name of the Department showing. How can I bring up what frequency I'm holding on without screwing everything up? Sorry, it's been quite a few years since I programmed this unit.
