What do "Silent Key" and "Not Posting" mean when they're underneath someone's username? I've seen them under several people's names.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPod; CPU iPhone OS 6_0 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/536.26 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/6.0 Mobile/10A403 Safari/8536.25)

I do know that silent key means to amateur radio operators that a person has died and their key is silent meaning no transmission from their station. As for not posting, I don't know what it means.

Silent Key=Member who has passed away.
Not posting=Member is likely banned or received a posting suspension (that's my interpretation of it anyways...).

Your master site
Not Posting is the account status one gets when they're beyond moderation but not close to being banned. They can essentially lurk the forums as a member but cannot post publicly or privately. When someone is banned (temporarily or permanently) they cannot login under that account anymore; the account is no longer usable.

There's a long thread happening

about GRE (Japan side) closing some of it's business. There's one poster who has been obnoxious and in my opinion is a troll. Anyway, this morning I see the words "Not Posting" under his nick/handle. Great example of what those two words mean! lol

Amen!

And hopefully all those others (few I'm sure) who troll will take note of the "Not Posting" status. If somebody wants to cause a ruckus, there's always the RR Tavern. When some one post news and other information, it doesn't need to be mucked up with stupid crap or posting nonsense for the point of posting. There's people who like to listen to themselves talk, so we know there's people who like to read their nonsense posts! lol
I'm glad you started this thread, because I'm one iota smarter as to "Not Posting"...
