What do u think of this attenna?

I do i have a pro-96 digital trunking scanner. what i mean is i wish this darn thing would improve my 800 mhz range. :x

As you get into the higher frequencies the SWR of the antenna at those frequencies is important. I have found that most boradband antennas do not do well at 800 unless they have been designed with 800 in mind. As remedy44 said, the antenna you have has peak performance in a range. Even then it probably has SWR of 2.0 or less across this range. Not bad. But from experimentation I have found that you need an SWR of below 1.2 for best 800 MHz performance. The antenna I ended up using for 800MHz is a mobile phone antenna - which of course are designed to have low SWR around 870-890. Be careful to check the range the antenna is designed for. Here is Australia we have CDMA and GSM networks. It is our CDMA networks that are in the 800s.

Antenna choice is trick and of course costly if you need to try something else. But hang in there as you will get a great result in the end. You just need to keep trying different stuff.
