Just curious about what others can hear. I'm near the Norwich area and can hear quite a bit.

I'm using a Channel Master Monitenna with dual preamplifiers. I can hear Glastonbury FD on 452.450 MHz, West Warwick, RI FD/Cromwell, CT FD on 154.430 MHz, and Montauk, NY area FD on 453.425 MHz, Southampton, NY PD on 155.415 MHz.

I figured this would be fun to compare reception.

I remember Suffolk County years ago. But I cannot hear them on 800 MHz.

I can hear them on 46.46 MHz.

Yes, the 70s and 80s were a great time.

From Norwich can you pick up Farmington FD on 154.19 - they put out a pretty strong signal.

From Norwich with my BCD996XT, I have heard the following clearly and confirmed with CTCSS/DCS:
453.5250 (C100.0) Ellington CT Police (50 miles)
154.0325 (C94.8)= Oxford MA Fire (50 miles)
159.21 (C114.8) Holyoke MA Police (75 miles)
460.225 (D343) Boston Police (100 miles)
154.1825 (C114.8)= Barstable MA Corrections (100 miles)
470.3125 (C131.8)= Oxford MA Fire (100 miles)
470.7625 (C131.8)= Malden MA Fire (100 miles)
All of the above were discovered during Public Safety Search with CTCSS/DCS set to Search on clear nights. I confirmed the locations as there are no local users on these combined freq/PL combinations. I have also travelled to the above locations and have confirmed them as active channels as listed. I believe I can hear Suffolk County EMS on 155.28 some nights. I can never hear any of these distant channels on overcast or stormy nights, and only at night on clear nights do I pick them up well.
Anyway, have a great holday season, everyone!
