What do you recommend for an iphone scanner app

I am using 5-0 Radio now. Sometimes it seems to cut out. I tried it in various roms around my house and outside. Listening to VA Beach Fire/Ems and Police.

In addition to 5-0, try:
Scanner911
Em.RadioFree (Emergency Radio Free)

Em.RadioFree I like because it tells you what feeds are up, at a glance, whereas the others you have to click on a feed in order to see whether it is online or not.

As for dropouts, I reckon that could be more a problem with the Internet or the feed itself, as opposed to the app.

My experience is with an Apple iPhone 4s, so I can't say for sure if my suggestions are available on Android phones.

I use several, but both S.R. Delux and ActnScanner work well and are easy to use.

What you are describing sounds like a connection/reception issue with your phone and not the app itself.

Remember phones are not scanners. You are not receiving the transmission directly on your device.

The scanner communications are received, via streaming, over the phone's cellular or WiFi wireless connection. If that connection is compromised it may cause what you are listening to to cut out.

It could also be the feed itself. Try listening on a computer and see if it cuts out.
