They would never use SUNRISE for ATIS info.........it is UNIVERSALLY sierra.........used worldwide........ENGLISH is the universal language of aviation.

Besides the sun setting into the western horizon, what's is used for there in aviation speak?and a guy many years ago (~1990)giving the atis info in his best 'dracula' did not happen.

could it be that they are on the "sunrise" part of Texas ?
i am on the west coast of Florida and many things get called sunset.

Yes I believe they are saying at or have Sunrise, maybe as a landmark like Shamrock island, only thing around Corpus would be the Sunrise mall, I guess.was it "i have sunrise" ?
I was wondering about that also but it's pretty far away from corpus Christi.SUNRISE airport??
