Jake,

They are using Motorola APX-6000 portables.

I have a fleet map of what is in the Union County fire radios and the it states they have XTS-2500 as well.

That is what most of the Union County departments use.

The highway patrol uses a mix of XTS-2500's, XTS500's and APX-6000's

The highway patrol is also starting to install APX 6500 mobiles in the cars.

Hope this helps

Like Marshall said.

They are under the Charlotte UASI Trunking System

They use Bravo through Lima talkgroups.

I probably will scan today and see if I get a new fire channel

Jake, if you go into the database and pull up the page for the UASI system and scroll down you'll see the talkgroups for Union County. There are 4 sections listed as follows:

- Union Common/Mutual Aid Talkgroups
- Union Fire/EMS Talkgroups
- Union Sheriff Talkgroups
- Union Services Talkgroups

Follow this link to get the the UASI database page

Follow that link and scroll about 3/4 of the way to the bottom and you'll find those listings. As others said everything you'll need is listed.

So in this over two year old post:
http://forums.radioreference.com/no...310702-waxhaw-nc-police-freq.html#post2366401
there is mention of some VHF freqs for Union County NC public safety services, including 453.850 Mhz. PL 114.8 Hz (Sheriff Dispatch).

Is that still in use (or patched), or is all PS traffic now 100% digital on UASI?

I might be moving to Union County from Iredell County (in which case I might have to change my user name! ;))

County EMS is patched,
County Fire 1-4 are patched to dispatch, bravo, charlie, & delta.
City Fire is multicast on the dispatch side only.

There are no more routine law enforcement comms on conventional channels.
