Under Balt. County PD I see talkgroups for the Precincts listed as "ISU".

I was told it stands for "Investigative Services Unit".

But what the heck is that exactly ?

Thanks, Tim

Preceinct Detectives they should identify themselves as I-?? and sometimes use the 300 series talkgroups. This is a newer unit in the County Police.

Thanks to everyone for their responses.

Is there any specific "type" of Detective work on this talkgroup ? Or do they just use it for whataver type of Detective Comms they want ?

On the 300 series talkgroups, only Sergeants and up have this in their radio's as well as all of the detectives, I have heard comms of a little bit of everything on them, from tailing subjects to just routine talking.

Dispatcher308,

Thanks for the information.... it sounds like it's a general use Talkgroup for the higher powers.

Regards, Tim
