I traveled through central Oregon today and I was listening to the Deschutes county system like I have before. I heard one Sheriff's office TG (Dispatch 1) but I never heard Bend PD.

Does anyone know if there have been any changes to this system or to Bend PD in particular?

Thanks

The very antiquated Motorola analog system will be replaced with a new P25 digital system in the not too distant future, but I am still hearing Bend PD Dispatch on the usual talk group. Maybe just a slow crime day? :)

In the past I was using a Pro-197 but I replaced it with a BCD536HP with an attached GPS unit. I'll check the programming and make sure everything was set up correctly. Or, maybe it was a slow day for crime. That would be good news for those who live in the area.

Thanks for the response!

I have been monitoring the Deschutes County system with Universal Trunker and noticed that they have dropped some of the frequencies that are currently listed on here on RR. I believe that the new P25 system that is proposed will change from 4 sites to 3, so this may be a step in that direction. I am showing the following for the analog system now;

Motorola 572E

LCN Frequency
237 856.9375
248 587.2125
277 857.9375
288 858.2125
317 858.9375
328 859.2125
368 860.2125
397 860.9375 current control channel

That means that the following frequencies are no longer in use;
859.9375
856.2125
856.7625
857.7625
858.7625
859.7625
860.7625

I modified my receivers to reflect these changes and I am not missing any communications. I don't know if this will help at all with your situation, but wanted to share what I do know.

Safe travels!

I'm no expert in trunking but, as I understand it, all the radio needs is the control channel frequency (or frequencies) in order to function. The Pro-197 only had the control channels programmed, but I understand that the Home Patrol scanners load all of the listed channels from the database. The four control channels that are listed in the database are not on your list, so I would think that wouldn't make a difference.

I'll be making my return trips in a couple of weeks. I'll create a favorites list for that system, excluding the frequencies that you've listed, and see if that works better.
