I believe the owner's been having terrible health problems but beyond that, I'm not sure what will happen. I drive by them every week day (because I work less than a mile away) and all of their inventory seems to be there still. They're never open and a No Trespassing sign is the only thing hanging on the door.

FYI I have known Dale Hartman and his sister Dana, the owners, for the past 18+ years and value their friendship. Through the years for those customers who purchased various Uniden analog and/or digital scanner models, the latest being the 396XT or 996XT, and did not wish to attempt to program it themselves but wanted maximum optimized monitoring choices of the various radio services/users, Dale and/or Dana referred them to me. The user no longer had an expensive paperweight using only the limited factory programed monitoring choices for Virginia. A few weeks ago Dana visited me to program a 396XT.

In 2007 I had a blocked bile duct which caused fluid overflow into my pancreas. If not diagnosed in time and if the gall bladder is not removed ASAP you can guess what happens rather quickly. Fortunately for me my condition was diagnosed quickly and the operation performed a few days later. Dale's diagnosis and operation took a longer time. As a result he no longer physically is able to continue working. Dana is having a very difficult time alone dealing with the various business problems and challenges including security. I think she still has a few 996XTs for sale at competitive prices...not yard prices. I suspect in the near future the business either will be sold or closed.

Dana Hall, one of the two owners of Mobile Music, informed me the business will be terminated ASAP due partially to Dale's medical issues requiring daily hospice care. No Uniden scanner inventory is left. Those who know both wish them the best for the future during this difficult period.

John I'm so very sorry to hear about this. I did allot of business with them in the early 2000's. I'd see them at the Frost Fests.

I grew up with Dana's youngest son...we spent alot of time up there hanging out and working on our own vehicles...another great small business gone by the wayside. On a positive note the last I heard was that Dale's condition had improved
