What happened to USASCAN.COM ?

I used to do business with Communications Electronics Inc. ( Usascan.com) located in Ann Arbor. Went to the website today to inquire about ordering a new Uniden and the website no longer exists. Did he go out of business ? Whois shows the URL still registered to him. Does anyone know what happened ?

In case you haven't checked it yet, the Wayback Machine's last valid snapshot was in Dec 2015. Both Jan 2016 snapshots indicate that no website is configured at the address. Since a WhoIs search shows the domain address has not yet expired, maybe their host-account expired.

Maybe someone else can share some first-hand information about the change.

This is hear-say so don't quote me. A couple years back someone told me that Communications Electronics (USA Scan) became a wholesale distributor to the trade (to dealers) and stopped selling to consumers.

The last time I visited their website (mid last year??) the most current scanner listed was the BCD396XT.
