Hello,

Some years ago I bought my mom a Radio Shack PRO-528 when the Lawton Police Department (Comanche County, OK) switched to 800 MHZ radios. She likes to listen to emergency personnel, specifically the LPD. I followed the instructions to enter all the frequencies for trunking (which I'm not familiar with btw) and I figured out what ID's went to certain radio channels. It worked fine for a few years until about a years or so ago. My mom can only hear some transmissions for Lawton PD's main radio frequency and not all of them. I know this to be true by comparing the scans to an actual radio. I've reset the scanner and re-entered the frequencies to only arrive at the same problem. Has something happened to allow her only to hear some transmissions and not all of them? Is this model obsolete? Has it been affected by this "rebanding" I've read about here? Thanks for your help.

Thanks so much for the reply. So it's because of the rebanding that only some transmissions are heard? Is there a scanner I can get that will cover this issue so she can hear all transmissions? What do I need to look for in a scanner to cover this?

That system has rebanded and that model scanner does not support rebanding.

All the freqs. in the Lawton site are not affected by the rebanding. He should still hear everything. They may have changed control channels, so he should be sure all 11 freqs. are entered. It's also possible they are using digital on some of the talk groups, so of course she won't hear those.

Are you programming the OKWIN system, or the Lawton Communications system?

DickH, Thank you so much for the help. Those frequencies worked perfect. So far there have no missed transmissions. :)
