The other day I did a service call 150 miles into the boonies.
Not much in the way of scanning most of the way, & I am tired of music/news at the moment.

I was looking at my XM, but I really wished I could listen to my home scanners.

What if: Wow, if XM would offer a premium service so I could uplink my home scanner(s) & downlink a (private) channel on my XM anywhere I go???

Just a scanners pipedream, but hey....that's what I do best.

Satelite mobile home scanning!

That's an AWESOME IDEA!!! OMG YES! I would so do that.... I already
broadcast my scanner online, but to have it come through my XM would
be absolutely perfect!

the amount of money they would have to charge you per month for your own private stream would be astronomical.

imagine how many transponders (and bandwidth) they would need for the amount of users that would like to have that (not just for scanners).

That's why I said:

I think that Lindsay should start a fund for the new Scannist Satellite Network (SSN)

We'll need a good launch vehicle. I think we should contact Virgin Records :)

Before the Pro96, I used my cellphone and laptop to keep streaming audio from my Motorola digital rig while on the road...
