What info are you trying to identify in Bloomington-Normal?

In the spirit of the http://forums.radioreference.com/il...nfo-you-trying-identify-champaign-urbana.html I am making a similar page for Bloomington-Normal. Trying to identify frequencies/talkgroups can be a time consuming task, but with shared knowledge the task is made easier.

To start…

464.450 103.5 apartment company
Been hearing a property management company on a really strong repeater in Bloomington-Normal. I heard them mention "the hill on Jersey". Other references were to apartment related maintenance issues. I've also heard the tone 107.2 on that repeater and somebody mentioning "stop by State Farm Corporate South". I don't know what kind of business they are. Can't find a license for this repeater.

464.325 100.0
I heard some school ops on 464.325 100.0 mentioning the "elementary door on washington". I hear lots on the stronger repeater 464.325 131.8 from BHS staff.

Hill Radio LTR - TG 0-05-100
Rental store heard here. Unknown business. Rent-A-Center or similar business.

ISU 453.875
Is Rec Services using this anymore with PL 173.8. Does Campus Dining still use it with PL 131.8? All I heard on it a few weeks ago was 210.7 which is the new Fitness Center.

Other observation.
These were heard over Christmas week from north Normal (except 464.550).

464.550 mhz. / 67.0pl. is a truckstop in bloomington,called Pilot and has a Wendy's franchise associated with it.
The apt. maint. heard on 464.4500 /103.5pl. appears not to be licensed.
The towing freq. (unknown who yet) 464.9750 is a rptr. with two tones assoc. with it. 131.8pl. and D143

464.550 / TPL 67.0 is the default for many Motorola and Kenwood business band radios (think XTN/CLS series...) so, it could be many different users.

True, but in THIS case the pilot truck stop has been verified as the user in this area.

The users made mention of it not being busy because the Bears game was just starting. My guess is it's used by Avantis but I haven't been inside to look for radios being used. Will try for an exact determination next time I'm near ISU.

It's confirmed to be PILOT because I have been in there at the fuel desk when they've used a portable and I'm copying them through my ear-mic.
But avantis could have radios too, who knows?

Unidentified frequencies near ISU

Went to Avantis Sunday and confirmed that they are using 464.550 67.0. Also found some other frequencies in use in that area that were new to me...

467.925 stronger by Redbird Arena than by Avantis. Sounded like the organizers of a school related competition
464.500 (71.9) "desk", "manchester primary" mentioned
464.500 strong data. Stronger than 464.500 DCS125

453.875 (250.3) faint. Mentioned "first aid restock"

Can anyone confirm the LCN for 461.575? I hear LTR clicks but haven't heard any TGs on there. This is licensed to ABEEP in Gridley.

heard 467.900 DCS465 at Empire and Veterans. Assuming this is Kmart since it's been listed as Kmart in other cities

Are any of the wrecker frequencies located in the McLean County Businesses portion of the database in use anymore? I have not heard them although I haven't tried to listen to Bairds VHF freq. Many years ago Joe's used 464.075.

The only wrecker service I've heard recently is on 464.975 131.8. Don't know what company this is.

Good point, since NWS link frequencies come to mind at 410 mhz. Lincoln NWS has a couple of freqs like this,but I've never heard them.

Went to Read's yesterday and heard 464.550 67.0. Definetly a restaurant and had a strong signal at Vernon and Veterans.

I ate at Garden of Paradise this weekend and heard these frequencies in the area of KMart and the mall. I didn't include ones already listed in the database.

I changed 458.875 131.8 from Deprecated to Schools tag based on hearing it yesterday. Maybe that's what caused it.
