In my scanner, I have the frequency 155.55 MHz. It is labeled as EMA North, which should be Emergency Management Admistration, but is sounds like a work crew. Is this a crew that supports the EMS in the Northern part of Rutherford County?

North Net is the correct name for the channel. Check the PL tone. I believe that the County Hwy Department uses the same frequency, but on a different PL tone. It is also used by all the rescue squads, EMA, ambulance service and the fire deparment as an alternate channel or mutial channel. The SO monitors the channel and it can be used as a backup dispatch channel if fire net or ambulance net goes down.
