Back in the old days you had banks that say your town in bank 1 next town over bank 2 what is that called in the bc396t and how do you program it using the Proscan software?

Regardless of the software you use, there are no banks in DMA; rather the closest equivalent would be a group

I suggest you take a look at the links for Dynamic Memory Architecture in our FAQ, then go to the resource page for the Easier to Read manual, and listen to this podcast (also found on the resource page) to start to learn about DMA

The resource page also has lots of links for other videos that you can use

Programming in ProScan is done the same way that the scanner is programmed and all software in that it follows the hierarchy. The hierarchy is explained in this link.

It may not stick out so here it is in the simplest form.

One thing to remember is that the BCD396T will allow only a single site per system. That is different from the other DMA scanners.

Right; for the listing above, remove the 2nd site and you've got the 396T's basic trunk setup

Actually the concept of 'sites' didn't come into play with the 396T- that came with the XT handhelds (and of course the BCD996T and BCT15). However it's logical to program the 396T one 'site' at a time

No. I mean one site per system because the BCD396T is a single site per system scanner. What you have to do first is determine the sites near you so you will just be programming those sites into the database. When importing from the RRDB, after the data has been retrieved (using the Get Data button), click the 'Uncheck All Sites' and then check just one site then click the Import button. That will create a system with just one site. If you want other sites on the same system, then do it again by checking the box for the other site then click the import button. Repeat until you got all the sites for a particular system.

{edit} Can you provide the link of the RRDB system you are trying to program?
