that all depends on how cheap... and may depend on if its a hand-held or a base model, and may depend on who you ask. There are a few digital models, made by a few scanner manufacturers. Some scanner owners are true to one manufacturer or another. Some have more features than others. There are even some good used digital scanner models for sale on this site. You may want to try the radioreference "equipment for sale" forum. Ebay is another good place to look, if your familiar with ebay. You need to make a decision, a base model, or a hand-held. I prefer hand-helds, as you can sort of set them up as a base when you've got it in the home. If I may suggest, I recommend a newer scanner like the Pro-106 because I personally feel its feature packed and worth the money, worth saving up for. You may also want to look at the GRE-500 hand-held or the Pro-96. Keep your eye open, and I am sure you will find a nice radio.
