I was in onelink wireless today talking with one of the sales guys, and he was talking about all the "old" trunked systems like edmond and ohp have. What would be considered "new" if those are old? What technology is newer. I though trunking was the newest thing out there? I guess digital is the next big thing, but isnt that practically the same thing?

Well, the new digital generation is probably what he was referring to. There are many advantages the newest systems have, although there are also disadvantages too. The only thing I can think of other than digital systems, would be satellite systems.

I would agree with Milf. I am sure he is taking about the newer generation of trunked systems. You did not mention what companies sales person it was.

Trunking has been continuously developing over its almost 30 year life so there has always been a "Latest and Greatest".

Milf,
What specific "Disadvanteges" do newer truncked systems have over older ones?
