From the Wiki here:

Uniden's name for an individual call between two radios or between a radio and a console operator on a Motorola or EDACS trunked radio system.

Also called "Private Call".
--------------
In other words, a call between specific users, rather that a call open to all listeners on a talk group. A call from user number XXXXX to user number YYYYY, direct.

I Calls on trunk systems go through the repeaters, they just aren't on a 'talk group'.

I guess am still confused, does it show something on the screen?

If you have a Uniden scanner that supports I-call, such as 396XT, 996XT, a Motorola Type 2 system I-call will display a number in the 70000 series, if it is EDACS and Motorola Type 1, the display on the scanner will show i0.

Not all I-calls can be monitored. There are a few I-calls made on a neighboring County system I monitor, which is operating over Motorola Type 2, occasionally has a few encrypted I-calls.
