Greeting Utah,
I am upgrading my receiver and was looking at the TG (Talk Group)
for 01) NOAA weather rebroadcast
and the 02) NOAA Same published codes for weather?
Does anyone know the difference and how they apply to each other?

That's interesting,
Have you programmed a receiver to copy anything of interest
or are we just one of the lucky one who never have any major weather problems.

I looked in the DB and I only see TG 96 which is listed as NOAA. What is the other TG you are talking about?

While I have never personally heard TG 96, I checked my unitrunker and I have two hits from Site 3 this year.

SAME is a product of NOAA and has nothing to do with the UCA system.

If there is a rebroadcast of a NOAA channel on the UCA system, it may not be for your area at all. You are much better off with a dedicated weather radio with SAME capability so you can set it to alert just for your immediate area(s).

That's it, Just one TG "96"
That is listed in the radio reference
However, Looking at my receivers owner manual,
it has The possible of a NOAA listing for a weather warning.
So, My concerns is what the difference between the two, UCA and / or NOAA
And should I list both in my receivers.

Ahh right. So the TG on UCA apparently will play the NOAA forecast.

If your receiver has a SAME feature, it would allow you to plug I. The codes for your area and then you would monitor the NOAA frequencies and if the SAME code you entered is activated the receiver would alert and you would hear the transmission.

It would work much the same as a stand alone weather radio. But the UCA TG is entirely a different thing from the receiver being able to do SAME.

It has been a while (a couple years+) since I've heard TG 96 active. It was used to pass severe weather alerts. From what I remember, it was not an actual "rebroadcast" of the NOAA transmission, just a severe weather alert. I had kinda assumed it was an "all hands" alert for the airport. And I know the airport is on a separate system.
