Would you know (if anyone) has such knowledge
of the original price between the Pro 197 and the Pro 652

Google has this about the 197.

...and this about the -652.

It doesn't have specific release dates, but you can read those pages and glean rough times of year when they were released, as well as (mostly) accurate MSRP.

Well, Yes thanks for the vintage catalog listing....
The Pro 163 /4 went for $199.99 New
The Pro 197 went for $399.99
It appears if if the pro 652 did not come out yet.
So, I am still patiently awaiting on someone answer, to the mystical question of:
How much was the MSRP of a new out of the Box Pro 652 Digital general radio receiver.

When RatShack went belly-up I picked up four 652s for $125 a piece. Unopened, in the in the box. I waited and turned them around for more money of course. Whistler now sells them as the ws1065 for a lot more but they're basically the same 16 year old GRE psr-600 with cosmetic changes.

Yep... I picked up 3 of them at that time for around that same price, the deal couldn't be beat. I had the best intentions of reselling mine also, but life got in the way for a while including packing up and moving to a new house. As of right now, I know I still have them, they are still brand new, in un-opened packages, but I have no idea where they are.

Yep I remember swaping one of them as part of a deal... in it's day, it was a wonderful radio with its problems of front end overload and poor simulcast reception, but, I love those radios. I hope you find them, people still buy Whistler ws1065s thinking their new radios LOL.

I just paid 65 dollars for a nearly NOS Pro-197
Yeah, RS around here cleared them out for $66 plus tax, as well as the handheld version. I grabbed a bunch for family members, one of whom has become a licensed amateur as the result of it (y)

Bob, I was so waiting to jump on a handheld digital that was on closing clearance, for a unbelievable price. They had the box, but no scanner. While I am basically a Uniden man, I like the Whistler and radio shack spectrumsweeper more. Still wishI had grabbed a Ws-1040. I sold my psr-500.
