What is the purpose of the PRO-18 clock?

If you take the batteries out it defaults to "set clock".

But there does not seem to be any alarms or any way to display the clock.

So what is the purpose of the clock?

No recorded audio on the Pro-18.

Look at all the files on the SD card and see if any are timestamped.
If it does not have a useable clock and does not record audio, it seems that someone may have forgotten to remove the clock functions from radioshacks crippled version of the firmware. Unless it timestamps some log files or something stored on the SD card.

I figured it was something like that. Annoying that if you take out the batts it asks you to set the clock, when it has no purpose
