Fire Freqs

Those frequencies are used by the county fire department as "satellite receiver" frequencies, which basically means if you program those frequencies (or whichever one you can hear the best), you can hear all mobile traffic and base traffic for the fire department (on their main dispatch frequency you cannot hear mobile traffic unless they are close). I live on the east side, near the city, and 458.4375 works the best for me.

What is the tone that is used? Its not listed.
If you're not getting any type of interference on those frequencies, I wouldn't worry too much about it. However, if nobody helps you before then, I can look them up for you when I get back to Owensboro over the weekend.

ok thanks that would be great

Sorry. I forgot all about it last weekend. Went to bike night at one of the local establishments on Friday and then participated in a poker run Saturday. Anyway, I remembered this time around. I can pick up both the 458.xxx frequencies from the Northwest side of town and they use an 82.5 PL. I can't pick up to 453.xxx frequency from here but I would assume it would be the same.
