Can anyone help in identifying what this antenna setup is for? There are two of them outside of my local fire and police building on the front corners where the marked vehicles sit all day.

Yeah, I agree. Looks like an outdoor WiFi setup.
The black cable is likely an outdoor rated Category 6 cable. The box it runs into is the radio, and that's connected to the larger panel antenna. We've done similar things in the secured area where they park the cars. When the officer returns, the terminal in the car connects and dumps all the files onto a server in PD.

I agree with the estimation that these are wireless APs. Given the number, and their location, I think that some are local and at least one is used as part of a wireless bridge.

I asked the firefighter sitting below them this evening and he thought they could be part of the Shot Spotter Detection System throughout the city.. clearly the FD has nothing to do with whatever this system Really is. thank you all for chiming in.
