What kind of sound is this?

Being new, I am not sure what I am hearing on this conventional system. I attached a zip with mp3. Alternately I added the file to dropbox

I never used to hear this until I moved my antenna to a higher location. The audio type is set to "all". Modulation "NFM"

It sounds almost like a DMR signal cutting in and out. What frequency was it and what kind of receiver? It could be that moving your antenna to a better or higher location is making strong signals mix and cause intermod in your receiver.

I concur, it sounds like DMR. If you have a DMR capable scanner try that, otherwise maybe someone else here can check it.

This is a common business channel so there are many other users on this in the Valley. The license (WQEB601) you provided is expired so that user *may* not be there any more.
