I tapped my new Pro96 a couple weeks ago, and had some time to research the various trunking programs. I read where T4WIN doesn't need a slicer so I installed T4WIN on my laptop running XP Pro, connected the scanner to the mic input, and launched the program. I'm monitoring the http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=TRSDB&sid=58 Montgomery County Texas EDACS96 system. It's quite fascinating watching the talkgroup activity bouncing from frequency to frequency as the system changes. I also found I can monitor I-calls since they show up as 'individual' in the 'type' column and the corresponding LCN freq. I just grab my Pro93 and manually step to that channel.
I've also found quite a few new talkgroup ID's that aren't listed on the system IDs in the RR Database linked above. I am trying to identify them and when I'm sure what each one is on an individual basis I'll send the update info.
Running in scan mode are a Pro93 and Pro2053 so I can monitor a lot of traffic.
Already I've gone into the .xml file to modify it. The LCN was incorrect and every time I tried to edit it while t4win was running, it would crash.
I have been entering the talkgroup data while the software is running with no problems.

Are there any other tricks I can do with the software? How difficult is it to interface a second scanner to utilize the 'control' features? How about the other software that is available? Is it worth my time to build a slicer to try the other programs since I only monitor an EDACS system?

Thanks in advance!
