To start and make life easy, you could run that with just one dongle. When you fire up dsdplus, enter the control channel into the fmp24 tuner. You should see the data start to scroll. You should see the channel numbers appear. Its been a while since I did a NXDN trunked system and your channel id's will not match mine.

You will need to populate your dsdplus frequencies file to look something like this

This is a NXDN system I monitor

; 371 1 We transportation

NEXEDGE48, 371, 1, 786, 464.81250, 464.81250, 0
NEXEDGE48, 371, 1, 821, 452.45625, 452.45625, 0
NEXEDGE48, 371, 1, 822, 461.61875, 461.61875, 0
NEXEDGE48, 371, 1, 823, 461.69375, 461.69375, 0
NEXEDGE48, 371, 1, 824, 462.05625, 462.05625, 0

I will be out for a while but hopefully others will assist.

I think I have a working DSDPlus with fastlane, thanks to all the help I received on this forum. Now I need to learn the basics of how to use DSDPlus. Maybe I should start a new Subject on the DSDPlus Fastlane for use on NXDN NEXEDGE 4800 system basic step by step setup for the following site: What specific forum would you guys suggest?

Totally up to you but you did start this thread and it is about NXDN. I should be back, have to finish welding something.
No problem Dave. You have helped me a great deal getting this far and appreciate it. No real hurry on my end. Would like to sort it out over the next few days. I think Im close but have never even used DSDPlus before so it's different for sure.

Just a tip. Since you're interested in a NXDN trunked system, to get started, just enter in each freq into Fmp24 until you find one with constant activity.

CH IDFrequency
1453.16875
2453.500
3460.20625
4460.29375

Let it sit on the one with constant activity for a while and it will populate the channel activity window with the channel number for each freq. Looking at your fregs in the database, there is no indication as to which is the control channel.

Ok Dave. I'll try that and monitor for ahwile. I think I would right click on FM24.cc.bat and edit, then enter a frequency, save (FMP24 -rc -i1 -o20001 -P0.0 -f453.16875) Then double click and start this .bat file. What other file or files should I start besides FM24 cc. bat?

That's mainly if you want fmp24 to start on a certain freq. You can use it either way and if you want to change the freq at any time, just click on the fmp24 window, and type in your freq and hit enter.

I looked at your system of interest and do not believe the channel numbers in the database are accurate. The system I posted in my screen shot did not have any of that so I just made a submission to the database

I think I must need to start an IR bat file or log or something besides just the 24 cc.bat.

So far so good I guess. Will monitor
Click on the fmp24 window. Then click g (lower case) to lower the gain on the dongle until you start to see err showing in the data stream. Then hit G (capitol G) a few times to raise the gain to where is is not showing errors.

This is what decoding errors look like

NXDN is usually bandwidth of 4. Click on fmp24 window, then watch where it says BW 7.6. Click b repeatedly until it shows BW 4

In fact, these are all the functions you can do in fmp while it is running.

Active keys:
0-9 . Enter set frequency
[/] select step size
Cursor </> step frequency
Ctrl Csr </> step frequency by 250 Hz

A toggle auto center tuning
D cycle audio demodulation mode
Q toggle squelch mode
U toggle unlicensed spectrum display mode
M toggle spectrum memory overlay
X reset spectrum memory
Z toggle spectrum zoom overlay
I select injection mode
b/B select RF bandpass filter
T select tight or standard RF bandpass filter set
t enable/disable bias tee
N select noise filter
L toggle lost I/Q data test mode
E toggle extra CPU load to reduce I/Q dropouts
Cursor ^/v adjust volume level
spacebar toggle muting

g/G adjust RF gain
p/P adjust PPM frequency correction

R toggle raw I/Q and FM demod recording

S start scanner mode or exit hold mode
Y start spectrum survey
C start trunk control/rest channel following mode
V start trunk voice channel following mode

? list active keys
Esc exit scanner/survey/CC/VC modes or exit program

Left click on spectrum: retune

Trying to get you some basics before wife starts me on the honey do list.

Not sure what method you used to start (as there are a few ways) but I use this for single dongle mode.

To open fmp24 tuner. Think it's called fmp24_cc.bat
FMP24 -rc -i0 -o20001 -P0.0 -f935.0 Note- i0 will open first available dongle. By default, I believe the line uses i1.

To open dsdplus, think default name is 1r.bat
DSDPlus -r1 -T -E -Pwav -i20001 >>1R-log.txt

I use up to 3 instances of dsd with fmp24 and created pairs (by port number) of bat files. First uses port 20001. So first bat outputs to port 20001. Then dsd bat inputs port 20001. Then so on and so on. I have 3 pair with 6 bats total.

FMP24-CC_20001.bat
1R_20001.bat

FMP24-CC_20002.bat
1R_20002.bat

FMP24-CC_20003.bat
1R_20003.bat

As far as sound, in the 1R Event window, click output and make sure your speakers are selected.

I wonder if I will need this Audio Device: [Windows Direct Sound] Cable-INPUT (VB-Audio Virtual cable) in order to receive sound? I've never seen anything go active in the FM24 VC. bat window.

I might just tune to a weather channel and see if all is good with that, to begin with.

No, not when using the bats with port numbers. Its a direct connection and does not use virtual cables.

Quick test for sound would be to click Input and take note of what your set on in the 4th section. Then select Monitor Source Audio Always

You should hear the control channel is everything is good. After that, set it back.

Definitely hearing sound that way. Will switch back. It could be this is just a very inactive site but when I see "Group Call: TG-12 RID-9351 CH-4 4s" I'm surprise I'm not hearing something.

Go in your dsd directory and look in these folders

1679256010374.png

One of them may have recorded wav files. If so, play them and see if they have sound. You may not have folders depending on your bat file settings.
