Welcome to the RR forums. At the bare minimum you'll need a P25 Phase-I (FDMA) capable trunk tracking scanner to listen to the systems below. You may encounter simulcast distortion with Guilford County so a Uniden SDS100 or SDS200 would be recommended if this is a system you intend on monitoring regularly

I would add here, make sure you get a P25 Phase 2 scanner (which @Whiskey3JMC has recommended) as NC VIPER is scheduled to start moving to Phase 2 in 2025, Phase 2 licenses are already in place.

Mirroring a lot of what is here, I would recommend a Phase II capable scanner. VIPER is going phase II around July 2025, with the potential for some counties that are ready to switch earlier...... Also for the Guilford system, a scanner that handles simulcast distortion would be recommended as well.

Thanks for all the good feedback. Is the Uniden SDS100/SDS200 a phase II radio or do you have to update the software?

It supports P25 Phase I and II straight out of the box. Only DMR, NXDN, and EDACS ProVoice require paid upgrades. But according to the database, none of those are in your county or in Guilford County.
