Hi all, I am sure this has been touched on before, and I did a lot of searching and reading but couldn't find exactly what I'm looking for.

What portable scanner should I purchase? I can't affoard the Pro-96. I'll be in South Jersey half the year in a 800mhz trunking system area. And the other half in North Jersey in good old regular analog area.

What scanner is good at both? I have a friend in South Jersey with a Pro-95 and on some of the freq he just gets beeps, would a diff scanner be able to decode these?

I have read about Pro-92s ability to monitor 10 freq at the same time. Sounds nice...can others? Tell me what you think!

Thank you very much in advanced.

10 Freq's? I think any scanner can handle 10 freq's at a time. Do you mean trunking systems? If so, I've had good experience with the PRO-95. It's a dual though.

mmmm. If you need digital scanner (one that will decode digital sytems) you have a couple choices but it will cost you. The Pro96 is going for about $350 on ebay as is the mobile version the 2096.

If you don't need digital and want a nice scanner check out the Pro97 1000 channels and does do analog trunking. Around $200.

Also the 246T is a great choice for about the same price and has the new dynamic memory setup!

Pro97 at link below.

Look into the 246T. It will do everything you want it to do besides digital.

If that's true, please tell me how to do that! Or do you mean the 10 prority frequencies? Anyway, I would recomend getting a PRO-92 (20-522A or 20-522B, not 20-522) or a PRO-2067. Those things are old, but great scanners.

if you don't need digital you absolutely can't go wrong w/ the bc246t. You can't beat the features or performance for the price.
