Checking Wiki is the easy answer. When I need facts, I ask a question.

To answer,

The Pro-96, Pro-2096, Pro-528 and the Pro-433 are currently the only RadioShack scanners that are for sure going to be rebanding friendly.

The Pro-97 WAS, but was took off the list, and the Pro-2055 isn't known yet..

When you need facts, you should do some research. If the answer cannot be found (in the Wiki or anywhere else), then you should ask questions.

Otherwise, we get what we already see here on RR in abundance - the same questions asked and answered over and over and over and ...

DaveN2FG,
Excuse me for making the mistake of asking a question, I am new to the group and didn't realize the what Wiki knowledge base had. I will try and not let it happen again.

Mr Fuller,
I don't think Dave was commenting about an answer by another member. However, the Wiki is strange territory to most new members so your question is certainly valid.

Also Wiki is made up by members and not necessarily correct in all areas, but still a great resource for scanner information. My questions to all members on your topic.
1. Why is the Pro-2055 "Unknown" status and its electronically identical twin Pro-97 "no" status?
2. Why is the Pro-92 listed with "certain models" when only "V1" might work?

Of course, I can edit and make changes which are more suitable to me, but sometimes that is all a change may be...more suitable to thou.

A note on rebanding regarding all Radio Shack scanners. The real answer will be the field test of a Motorola trunking system in the 800 MHz range of a rebanded area with the affected frequencies.

I wouldnt hold my breath on the 97 or 2055 or any gre none digital being updated to support rebanding, it is looking like radio shack may not even offer gre scanner under the RS brand, if gre is coming out with its own line, Im sure the 96 and 2096 are ok if all they need is firmware flashed

I dont look for the 2055 to be rebanding friendly either. Afterall, the Pro-97, and the 2055 are essentially the same thing. The Pro-97 has been stamped as NOT rebanding friendly. At this time the 2055 is unknown, and I don't know why??

All sources indicate the Pro-96 and 2096 will be rebanding friendly, as will the new GRE scanners set to debut this fall.
