What should I expect with my BC370CRS

I am interested in CHP and Sheriff stuff as well as Air Traffic Police Helo, and Miltary for my listening. Will this scanner cut it?

For your area, most public safety is on trunked radio systems (including a bunch of digital channels). You won't be able to follow those comms. However, you will be able to get aircraft, including military, some miscellaneous fire and emergency channels.
