What to Do for Lafayette?

Do I need to reprogram a new fleet map or anything like that for the new changes in Lafayette, or simply look for new talkgroups?

If your talking about for a scanner,.. just put it as a Type II, and program the new TG's.

Right now they're in the middle of switching over and some talkgroups are still on the old ID's and some are on the new type II ID's so good luck trying to listen. As of this morning (Sat Nov. 6) I am still hearing the entire PD on the old ID's. SO patrol and the small town PD's that work off fleet 4 are still on the old ID's while airport security and civil are on the new ID's. The lafayette fire dept is on their convention backup channel of 14-RP (855.4625) while their radios are being reprogrammed and the volunteer departments are on the new fleet 3 ID's. I am using a few different scanners some with the old ID's and some with new to monitor right now.

To listen to the old ID's you will need a fleet map, but like Milf said above, once they are exclusively on the new ID's you will not need one because the new ID's are all type II. South 300 said that they will all be switched over by Nov. 15.

Slight change in plans.... the PD and SO will not start reprogramming until Nov 15. The dispatch consoles have to be upgraded and they will need a little more time. Its going to be interesting to see how the switch will occur with the PD and SO being large users of the system. It will only take a few days to get all the PD and SO programmed.
