What type of cable is this?

It says "channel master color-duct 82 100%shielded uhf/vhf low loss coax. I remembered that this cable was behind my PC. It was installed by the PO. Haven't been able to trace it to the other end yet.

The plug looks like one that would be used for a car stereo but looks larger.

Anyways your thoughts are appreciated.

The plug is what is used on car radios, and also older scanners used to use it too. It must have used to (or still does) go to an antenna, but judging by what it says it's 75 ohm coax but poor quality by today's standards. IMHO

Channel Master develops cable tv transmission lines and coax, and off air tv antennas usually used in apartments, hotels, office buildings and so forth. It's a very poor choice if you're using it to scan because the cable is the wrong impedance. 75 ohm for catv cable, and 50 ohm for communications cable.

hmm...I have used RG-6 (75 Ohm) coax for years,and it works great.In fact,it is lower loss than some of the 52 ohm coax(for scanning)
Also,the scantenna,and Channelmaster 5094A antenna kits came with a 50ft roll of 75 Ohm coax.
BTW,That's a standard motorola plug.
