What type of systems are in the area of Birmingham? Motorola, EDACS, E.F. Johnson?

Thanks crash. I knew that was posted in here just never thought to look there. By the way that truck looks like it's from either Birmingham Airport or PEMCO. I used to work the FD there.

Oh I wouldn't know about your systems down there, I don't live there. I was just doing some of your homework for you. :lol: But the truck is one of the new fleet of Oshkosh Striker 1500's now in service at JFK, LGA and Newark Airports.

Is the Statewide EDACS System widely used?

It was installed in 5 or 6 cities in the state. This was done over 10 years ago. That was about the extent of it. It is not used for primary dispatch purposes. It sees light use.

EDACS usage

EDACS is active in Morgan County although the Troopers
have abandoned it. From what I've heard, most Trooper cars
don't even have EDACS radios installed.
I think the Morgan County Emergency Communication District
(MCEMCD) otherwise known as Morgan County 911 maintains the
site, not the state.
The Following agencies are confirmed on this site:
Decatur Police MDT system.
Decatur Fire & Resue main operations.
Decatur EMS INC. ambulance main operations.
Priceville Police main operations.
Trinity Police main operations.
(Hartselle Police & Decatur Police voice traffic is also
simulcast on this site.)
