When I was a dispatcher for the City of San Mateo back in the 80's, we used Motorola QCII to ring down station and rigs. Now, very much like the county EMS system, fire is dispatched using a "multi-burst of tones" usually 3 sets of tones with 3 tones in each burst (beep-beep-beep, followed by another set, followed by a 3rd set). I don't know what this system is called, but can scanners like the Uniden SDS series be set to react to a specific station or an all call ring down? Carrying it one step further, can I set my SDS-100 to react to an EMS dispatch for a specific city, unit ID, etc?

Thank you
