Our city is switching over to a new system. I want to purchase a scanner that will pick
up the new frequencies, but I'm not sure what I have to buy.

Here are some details on the frequencies they applied for:

000775.15625000 1 1 2 FB2 1 20.750 281.800

000803.68125000 7 1 3 FX1 35 35.000 20.000
000803.13125000 7 1 4 FX1 35 35.000 20.000
000805.15625000 8 1 1 MO 1446 30.000 43.800
000805.90625000 8 1 2 MO 1446 30.000 43.800
000803.68125000 8 1 3 MO 1446 30.000 43.800
000805.13125000 8 1 4 MO 1446 30.000 43.800

What scanners (I would prefer Uniden) are available that will pick up these frequencies?

I would appreciate the input.

Well, the BC396 does. Several of the Colorado system sites feature 700 freqs, and my 396 picks them all up.

If you are talking about Trunktracking control channels or voice channels, also the 996.
