I am very new to the field of scanning, but I do enjoy listening in on all of the available traffic around me. I am in the market for a new scanner and I have ran into a stumbling block.
I have the opportunity to purchase any of the following (Pro-95, 96, or 97) and I am unsure which is the better choice for my area.
I live (straight line distance) about 50 miles from Lincoln, Columbus and York. Otherwise, the only thing in my area is the County LEO, occasional NSP, Fire/Rescue and Weather Watchers.
I do not want to buy more radio than I need, but then I don't want to turn around and find that I don't have enough in the near future.
Right now I think the Pro-95 would be the best choice, but :?:
Any help would be greatly appreciated. :D

I second the PRO-95.

When I got mine, the 97 had just come out. And while the 97 has a couple things the 95 doesn't, the 95 had a better price tag! :)

A month later and I'm still exploring the airwaves. I'll prolly buy a digital at some point in the future, but for now, the 95 does everything I want just fine.

And WIN95 for programming is the only way to go! :D
