It's listed as tg29, George Sector SAT. Obviously it needs verifying

best regards..Mike

Mike...

Don't know if you saw my response when Troy asked this question. It's 1061 (8C7).

That's the only scanner that can monitor the system, and yes, it's been confirmed that it can decode the TDMA talkgroups.

The only other option at this point for decoding is to use the DSD program.

That's interop for ya...PG buys a system that nobody around them has.

New PG700 works fine in DC and MoCo radios. Nobody around PG has 490 (except WMATA I know), so I see this as an improvement , not a degredation of interoperability.

You must be referring to the DC FD radios. While the old PG (490) was in a lot of DC PD radios, the new 700 system is not.

Here's the data in this link for 155.79 from the FCC db search

Maryland Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference

There are 2 callsigns and multiple locations listed. Which callsign should be used to add this data to the database? It looks like WQGV455 but there are several other locations on the same frequency with a different call

best regards..Mike

Anyone ever find the answer to this? I'd like to get the database updated...Mike

Channel 12? Channel 15?

TG 1071 -- Truck 855 did some testing today on this talkgroup -- they mentioned "on 12", "in the elevator", and "on Channel 15"....

Don't know if "on 12" meant a floor or a channel -- but he clearly mentioned "on Channel 15" -

I didn't se a Ch. 12 or Ch. 15 in Chief's post that started this thread --

Does anyone know what this might be?

VERY clear reception in any event!

I also got 2 hits on TG 1137 today for the first time. -- no audio though

TG 79 active today (first heard for me) -- seemed to be a police surveillance TG -- one of the users was very unreadable at first and the other users told him it sounded really bad -- eventually the guy with the bad radio audio said he had his radio (music?) turned up really loud in the background -- his radio was picking up so much background he was totally unreadable ------- once he turned down the radio it was very clear.

PGFD Tone and Voice Selective Calling?

PGFD has always used 46.120 MHz for tone and voice paging for years. I've read the information regarding the two VHF frequencies (simulcast / telemetry) but I have yet to find any information on future plans for their tone and voice selective calling system.

1. Will PGFD continue to use their current paging plan on 46.1200 MHz or are there plans to
deploy tone and voice to a new conventional high band frequency?

2. If so, which frequency?

3. Will the former paging plan be used or will new cap codes be established for each station, battalion,
specialty team, etc?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

For What it's worth: According to this article: Prince George's County Fire/EMS Department: PGFD's New Radio System - "The Sky is Falling - The Sky is Falling"

"The county will retain a few public safety channels such as 155.685 and 155.79. One will simulcast the fire dispatch talkgroup and the other will be a telemetry circuit for firehouse alerting. The majority of the county’s VHF and UHF frequencies will be returned to the FCC for re-licensing."

Thanks!

I noticed two periods of testing yesterday (there could have been others) -

I have recordings of Truck 855 in the afternoon talking about "12" and "15" -- they seemed to be testing out the new radios on a fireground (direct?) talkgroup/channel to see how well comms were in buildings that usually have bad communications (hence "elevator", etc.)

Last night (around 2100 or so?) I heard some additional testing but didn't catch the unit number-

Is one of these what you are referring to? What channel were you on at the time?

Also - I failed to mention yesterday -- 8A2/OPS1 seems to be now much more active now - perhaps because there are many more new radios now active than a few weeks ago? This seems to confirm that the new talkgroups are really only active when new radios are active on that talkgroup.

To troymail (and others) we started doing some in building testing yesterday and it will continue for the next 3 or 4 weeks. Stations in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 6th battalions will be testing on 8A12 and 8A15 (talkaround channel) and stations in the 3rd, 5th and 7th battalions will be testing on 8C12 and 8C15.

As far as the question about alerting and voice/tones channels that has been covered in previous posts. 46.12 will be history in the next couple of months.......

Getting some good recordings today of the testing on 12 and 15 ("short antenna")... looking forward to seeing what "the net" caught later today!

Guess I need to get my Pro96Com up and running and leave it in place during the day now.

PG Fire radios (E807?) doing some testing again today..doing testing in various locations (basement, 8th floor, etc.) - oddly however, they sound like they are testing "short" and "long" antennas -- not entirely sure what that means... however, there is a distinct difference most times in the sound of the "long" vs. "short" antenna messages --- "long" always seems to sound more "muffled" - sometimes almost unreadable on the PSR800 playback.... but the receiver in the conversation continues to say "loud and clear"....

Thanks John -- It's obvious to me now that the "talk-around" channels 8A15 and 8C15 are direct (not through the repeater) -- just like Anne Arundel has for both fire and police. Do you know what frequency these are using?

I still haven't heard anything on the "charlie" (south) side from my location in the north (Ft Meade)
