What's going on in PG????

In Loudoun County where we have the same issue, a lot of non-PRS 800 scanner owners get by monitoring law enforcement because of the number of FDMA radios on the TDMA system but you will not hear everything (car to car for example) no matter how many FDMA radios are up on the system. Also the reception on my 996XT is not as good when monitoring TDMA/FDMA opposed to my PRS 800. I am very also impressed with the PG TDMA reception on the 800 from my home in Alexandria. Both fire and police. I am a Uniden guy but I broke down and purchased an 800.

I used PowerPatrol to create a favorites list on my HP-1 for the PG system and while at Costco in Beltsville for gas, got some traffic on FD in FDMA mode, so I guess I did it right! Cannot hear them in the office in bethesda, even with the outside antenna. The old UHF come in but very scratchy, which is no surprise, since it is the same reception as sitting outside CO 34 ! The VHF simulcast comes in a little better.
