Just wondering what everyone has loaded into their scanners in the Calgary area.. running the 396 here with CPS, EMS, Fire, RCMP, STARS. What do you have loaded that makes for interesting listening?

Great feedback so far ! Interesting what everyone has/doesn't have. couple questions so far:
smason- why did you seperate the CPS, CFD, & EMS mains from the rest of the stuff for each? Do you find it scans faster this way? i haven't noticed a favourite on the 396 but that sounds like a cool feature.
masonb- we both have the 396 so i'm wondering what you mean when you say XX subs for each entry?
I have yet to load the Firenet and Provincial stuff yet but it seems like a long list, did you load everything listed?

Next question to all is out of all the things you have ( excluding CPS, EMS, CFD ) what do you find most active/interesting? recently upgraded the software so i figured i'd update my list and maybe try some new things if it's worth it. Thanks for the reply's so far !!!

Well if I want to just listen to dispatch for the whole city, without stopping on records or any other TGs, I'll hit scanlist 1. If I want all CPS I'll use list 11. Same with CFD, dispatch only, or all TGs including tacs.

I may change this if I find I need more lists.

Favorites is really handy, it's not like a regular scanlist, if you push favorites you get that list only.

Calgary Visit

Hey guys

I am planning to visit Calgary this summer. What sites should I be programming into my scanners? Does the Banker's Hall cover the whole city ? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Don't listen

One thing that I DO NOT like to listen do is the Private Invest. on TAC MOBILITY [see Data Base]. You might want to listen if all you want to hear is talk of hockey, golf, tennis, cars, taking pictures from long distances, etc.. Another is all the trucker traffic on local rental companites [again see Data Base] and so called Open Trucker frequencies [not]. May listen in the winter a bit more for road conditions, but other than that, just a lot of swearing. So basically, as stated in another post, listen to Air Traffic, Amateur Radio and the Public Service frequencies [this is were all the action is]. Most of these have already been laid out above.
