What's your choice/target/station/etc. for weekend traffic in your area? Working DX on the amateur bands or hunting utilities and broadcasters? Concentrating on VHF and above? What's your choice this weekend?

On HF, I'm mostly scanning the bands or hunting RNZ. Tonight, I'll be tuning into BBC on 12095 at 0400zn then VORW on WWCR 4840 at 0600z. Tomorrow will be a new episode of @Slippery999 's VOSR on WRMI 9455. I'll be testing out a couple of new SW receivers this weekend, so hopefully geomagnetic conditions cooperate for a while.

In the VHF and above realm, tropo has been really nice here the past few nights, even had a bit of UHF DMR coming in this morning from about 100 miles north. Sometime this weekend (or next month) I'm going to redo most of my favorite lists for the SDS scanners. Lots of changes in the region, and I want things arranged differently.

So, what's on y'alls dials?

This time of year don't stay indoors to much to play radio.

Weekends are made to chill at the pool with adult beverages in hand. Summer is too short in Mid-Atlantic plus having to account for bad weather days.

Will be by heavy boating area so any radio monitoring will be Marine VHF/USCG LMR, local FD/PD. Maybe local ham repeaters VHF/UHF or GMRS repeater via HTs.

Plus some aircraft with mid size airport 2 miles away with civilian and some mil air, but local mil air will soon be gone with A-10 being retired now.

Morning- general aviation. The miserable, disgusting, wretched swamp humidity is gone for at least another day, and with it clear and sunny out I'm sure the GA pilots will be out to get some practice in.

At night, state police. Friday and Saturday late nights are usually entertaining.

Scannerism is becoming a dead hobby for me with everyone moving to cellular in my already sparse to begin with town. I just had the main LTR lease system on all day today and not a peep, used to be a lot of businesses all over town using it and funny ranting.

I did bust my Tecsun PL365 shortwave out again Thursday night though and I got a lot of great reception using just the whip and ETM scan mode so I guess I’ll just do that since it’s easy to fit in a pocket and take it anywhere. 40m SSB was especially low noise for me too and I was picking up some Brazil stations.

There's not a lot on my receivers this weekend. I'm reprogramming my BCD996XT in my pickup to leave out lesser used frequencies and try to hear more traffic. That said, I'll be mostly concentrating on 161.025MHz, which is used by Norfolk Southern on their Blue Ridge district.
