Depends on what you want to listen too. For a good all around antenna the Diamond RH77CA is a good performer and for 800MHz the Radio Shack 800MHz works really well.

Use the one that gives you the best results.

Or, you could put up an outside antenna, like a discone, and feed it with RG-8 or LMR-400 cable. You didn't say if you wanted a base station antenna, or an antenna attached directly to the scanner.
