what's the best scanner to use?

i'm just asking what is the best scanner to use with an LTR system. and what the heck is an ltr system? i'm trying to get ready for when brunswick county, NC gets their ltr system up. and once again what is an LTR

Depends what else you want to hear.

Digtial? Base=BC796D Portable=BC296D

Non-digital? Base=BC898T, BC780XLT, BC785D Portable = BC246T

If it's not standard LTR, nothing will work.

As a side note, if the system going in is for public safety, I cannot imagine someone putting in a Standard LTR system for that use.

There is a few law enforcement agencies in Oklahoma that use LTR however I agree they are not the best for law enforcement but the Housing Authority and a couple of county sheriff office use them here for communications.
