Hello,

I tried my best to learn it myself but I'm really confused. My understanding is that the Olympic LAPD division is P25. What is the cheapest way I can listen to this?

Any purchasing recommendations would be appreciated. Thank you?

The cheapest (as in least expensive) way is to find a Broadcastify feed provider and listen on your cell phone or computer.

You didn't specify your location or if you want to listen while mobile or just at a fixed location (like home). This information is important if you want recommendations about over the air (OTA) monitoring. Also, you'll probably want to monitor more than just a single division, as some LAPD resources such as SWAT/METRO and AWRO aren't part of geographic divisions.

Probably the cheapest way to listen would be a software defined radio dongle (SDR) for less than $50 if you already have a computer and close enough to receive LAPD radio transmissions.

A beginner’s guide below.
