Here's what I found... I saw on the FCC application page that in Bloomfield, Stoddard County, had their low band frequencies deleted from the MSHP's tx tower there... just a lil bit of info, kinda interesting how they're getting rid of it, while the new frequencies are coming to life!! I'm getting really excited, and wish it could hurry up and get up here in the NW corner of the state!!!!! The frequencies being deleted are both dispatch side, Sheriff's Net, PD Mutual Aid, and two others which I assume are Car to Car or something...

That is deleting site 5 on the license, which I don't believe those frequencies were ever active at that location. Site 2 covers it well from a location just south of Bloomfield.

What is the WACN, and site number of this site?

Where does the 769.65625 fit into the system? Is is just "on air" ???

For anyone interested, these are the licensed 700 MHz frequencies in Missouri:

http://caprad.org/caprad/f_main.Link1?p_cRegId=24&p_cAreaId=999&p_cOpt=2&p_cHyp=0

I am currently receiving the MOSWIN (SYSID 3F8) Sikeston tower control channel on 774.53125. The alt control channel is 773.78125. The 155.7150, 159.2100 control channels for the site are NOT being used at this time. Showing a CWID of WPTZ785 on 769.65625 also. Using a PSR 500 and Pro96COM software.

MOSWIN Sikeston Site:
System ID 3F8
Tower ID 206(T0206)
WACN BEE00
Callsign WPTZ785

Adjacent site:
Site name Bloomfield
Tower ID 207(T0207)
System ID 3F8
Frequency 152.54000

The Sikeston site currently shows the callsign of WPTZ785 every seven minutes on 769.65625. It is used to show system ID information. I have yet to receive any voice transmissions on the site.

All MOSWIN towers have been offline since June 27. Currently there is no MOSWIN activity. It would appear to me that somethings are not going as planned. The implementation of this system is extremely slow going. I am also surprised that the Sikeston Tower was using 700 MHz frequencies, I thought that this was to be a VHF system. Unfortunately it appears as though there is a trial and error way of doing things. While I am sure these things take time ( I am curious how long it took to get the first two sites of AWIN going), at the current rate it looks as though NW MO can look forward to MOSWIN in the year 2050 :)

At this stage in the game......i'm sure all bets are off.

As the 2013 narrowbanding deadline approaches many agencies that would have benefited from using MOSWIN instead of buying and building their own infrastructure are going to have to rethink their game plan.

There are a lot of agencies still using simplex operation.....I would guess that these agencies would most likely upgrade to repeater operation at a minimum. This will require an additional channel for these agencies, making vacant spectrum even harder to find when MOSWIN finally does arrive.

In the meantime, I'll just keep the low band radios tuned in :)

The Sikeston site 306 is back up with the 700 MHz frequencies previously mentioned. Now the system ID is 1CE. The WACN is BEE00. The site now shows radio ids. The Bloomfield tower is still down.

Troop "D" MOSWIN system

Any word on when they will start on Troop D in SWMO ? Im in Joplin,Mo. Im worried about everyone encrypting everything. Do you guys see that happening among the municipals that hop on the system?? Or the state cars for that matter?

No Poplar Bluff tower yet. I thought of that and checked earlier today. Interestingly, Poplar Bluff PD was strictly using 151.0475 NAC 107 for a few days. They are now back on analog using their dispatch frequency. I wonder if there is a connection between the use of digital then and the new system? Sadly Poplar Bluff is beginning to use alot of encryption.

Semo, are you putting all the towers in one system on your PSR-500? I am my Pro-197 so far but I wonder how the VHF-HI will mix with the 700's in the same list.

Good question. I have the VHF in with the 700 MHZ frequencies and listen to both Bloomfield and Sikeston towers in one P25 auto trunked system. This does work with no problems. I also have it set (for now) to scan all control channels on each pass. The only need to separate the frequencies into different systems is if you want to alpha tag the trunked systems differently or if you do not want to listen to a particular tower . Currently I use one trunked system named "MOSWIN."

That's exactly how I have my 197, and it works well. It doesn't seem to agree with my Uniden 996XT too well. It flies through the system too fast. I set the delay & hold time higher but it doesn't change it.
